Annabelle's 7 months!

Somehow time moves so quickly from 6 to 7 months, and you begin to feel like you have an old baby! You realize how little those little babies are at first and how different of a job it is to have a newborn vs having a plump, animated 7 month old! During her 7th month, Annabelle really started moving! Watching her learn to crawl was so fascinating! back in early October she had gotten on all fours and we had all made bets she'd be crawling in a couple weeks. But she was

basically rocking on all fours, doing downward dog, moving backwards, getting frustrated, reaching with all her might for two months before she began to move forward in a crawl. Right before she turned 8 month, on Dec 12 she began to crawl. Other big milestones happened this month in her communication. She began somewhere in here to say mama....those words
are the sweetest words I have heard! On Thanksgiving day she figured out how to clap her hands! This was so fascinating to her that everyone she met knew how to do it too! One other thing she was able to do before crawling was to push herself up to sitting from laying down...This began to present new challenges because now Annabelle could sit up in bed! The first time she did this she was so proud of her self and surprised, she began to clap. This began a phase when bedtime became a time to show her new tricks! no mommy you can't just lay me down cuz now I can get up! HA!
I have just found a journal entry I wrote to you on 11/26/10 that captures some great details:
"It's the day after Thanksgiving and daddy and you are sleeping upstairs. Brother Biyou is her next to me on the couch, After shortly napping with you guys, I decided I wanted to write in this journal about you and all the wonderful things you do.
I can hardly believe youa re 7 months old. Not so long ago our life was maintainging a happy newborn who slept, ate, cried, looked at you and took it all in. Now you are out baby. You are out and all about! We wake up in the morning and after humming to yourself and me about the new days that's upon us, you roll over get up on your hands and knees, get a huge smile and start rockin and rollin' and talkin' Shortly after I'll sit you up and you are ready fro me to show you something. Either my mouthguard box rattle, a book, drum, a tub you can put in your mouth, or something you want to talk to or play with. Just recently you have shown great interest in Merley the Mermaid whom I think wil be your good friend. you get so excited to see her, you look at her face and start talking. Your arms go over your head and smack down! This is a
favorite move of yours. We think you could be a conductor or preacher. Your two new teeth are starting to show through when you laugh. You now laugh by yourself at something you are gettting a kick out of. We love this age and wish you'd stay like this!
You're really trying hard to crawlfor the last month. You show signs of your strong spirit by the grunts you make and frustration you show. At the same time I enjoy watchinn you try really hard to move towards something and then you just surrender to where you are and find immediate joy with what's in front of you. I have great reverence for how each day you work on getting stronger to move towards this thing you don't even know what it is..crawling. And you do get stronger each day by your practice, your will, your determination, your release...wow I could use some of that!
This past week you really use us to stand up on and help you maneuver. You reach for us to pick you up and immediately its clear you are using us as leverage and help. But sometimes it seems you just want me near so you can feel us both engaging in a toy not just me giving you one. I can feel that connection and its nice to share your world too!
S---is your favorite letter talkign piece from the floor mat nan bought you. You love to hold, it talk and move it and sing with it. You also love the drum. You make beats, chant and get really happy making music. I think music class has been a winner for you! On thanksgiving yesterday, you figured out how to clap your hands. Now you'll be making your own music in music class!
Daddy and I are loving these new moments of cuddle you give us. You burry your head into us and rest for a moment..Ahh. peace and love. You have now cuddled into my chest with the ergo which you never wanted to do before as a little baby. I breathe and take it in, it feels so good to be one with you! That feels so nourishing to me!
You are still fascinated with your hand. Starring at eh way you move them and how they feel. You have helped me to take time to look at mine and realize how I too have these amazing tools that I touch the world with and to feel more in touch with the creature-ness that I am too!
Again, I am learning so much. How to chatter less in my head and open into the ever present moment with you to bliss in with!
I am feeling so grateful for you and for our life together as a family. You bring so much joy!
